Ushirika Fundi I is an organization of skilled union craftsmen and women dedicated to the advancement of minorities — serving our community and preparing our youth for their futures in the trades.
Our members give back to the community, mentor young people toward apprenticeships in the building trades, and award scholarships to help them get there.
Ushirika members help their community with assistance and sponsorships for community-driven events and organizations — from feeding seniors and the homeless to weekly food distribution at churches.
Members mentor youth — boys and girls — to understand the different types of craftsmanship and prepare them for apprentice opportunities in the union trades.
We award scholarships to defray the costs of additional post-secondary schooling and training, because preparing our youth for their futures is our reason for a program.
“We Are One” — How great it is for Brothers and Sisters to dwell together in unity.Ushirika Fundi I
The Construction Apprentice Preparatory Program (CAPP) graduation celebrates the next generation of tradesmen and women as they take the step from preparation into union apprenticeship. Ushirika Fundi I is proud to stand with the graduates, their families, and the leaders who support them.

We ask that you continue to support and encourage us, as we move forward with our efforts to support our youth and community.”
